The goal of hospice care is to maximize quality of life and comfort for senior and terminally ill pets. This type of care does not focus on finding a cure for your pet's condition but rather focuses on their comfort and maintaining the loving bond you share. The types of treatments provided are very variable based on your goals, your pet's condition, and your pet's temperament. 

          Particularly for senior pets, a multi-modal approach may be needed to ensure their comfort. This may include pain medications, massage, laser therapy, acupuncture, and other treatment modalities depending on your pets individual needs. 

          There may come a time where a pet undergoing hospice care is no longer comfortable despite our best efforts. We at Happy @ Home Mobile Veterinary Care vow to always be respectful of your wishes. In some cases when hospice care is failing, while the decision is painfully difficult, humane euthanasia may be in your pet's best interest.
