Happy @ Home Mobile Veterinary Care with a few hard working volunteers hosted a Teddy Bear Clinic at Sutton's 2019 Chain of Lights. It was a great event which helped us to introduce our new practice to Sutton and those who traveled to Sutton for the event. When I first dared to dream of opening my own practice earlier this year, I knew how I wanted to debut it. I was raised in Sutton and absolutely LOVED attending the town's annual Chain of Lights holiday celebration. I have such fond childhood memories at this event and I wanted to help make some memories for children in my hometown.

Al's Rubbish was gracious to allow us to join them at their facility which was completely transformed into Santa's Workshop for the event. The walls were completely covered in winter scenes and Christmas decorations. There were plenty of fun activities for all including make-your-own ornaments, miniature golf, Christmas themed games, delicious snacks including snow-cones and popcorn, face paintings by Sutton High School Students, and a toy maker displaying and selling beautiful handmade wood toys. To round out Santa's Workshop Happy @ Home Mobile Veterinary Care hosted a Teddy Bear Clinic where children could bring their injured toys to undergo surgery so that they could fully heal.
We shared information about the services we offer including our offerings of laser therapy and acupuncture, we got to meet a lot of fantastic pet owners and their families, AND we had an absolute BLAST meeting the kids. They had so much fun playing veterinarian with our stuffed animals. Those that brought their toys for us to fix warmed our hearts as it was clear they were very worried about their cherished stuffed friends. The fact that they felt comfortable enough with us to leave them with us for their "treatments" while they played in Santa's Workshop felt as special to me as when my clients trust me to care for their pets in their time of need.

As we build our presence in the community and on social media we ask that any of you who had the chance to be photographed as our "Attaboy" dog to please "like" our Facebook page and share your images on our Facebook page prior to this Saturday, December 14th when one winner will be randomly selected to receive a free first examination for their pet. We can't wait to see all your photos and we look forward to serving you and your pets in the future.
Post your "Attaboy" photos to our Facebook Page
I am incredibly grateful to Sutton 2019 Chain of Lights Organizers and Al's Rubbish for hosting us and allowing us to take part in this year's festivities. I'd also like to take a moment to thank Melanie Prokop and my family who donated their time to help ensure this event was a success. Thank you to all of you who stopped by to say hello with us especially those of you who were gracious enough to take hand written business card information as our business cards came in halfway through the clinic. Lastly, I'd like to thank my dear friend Jane Zell. She is the talented artist responsible for all the graphic designs featured on our promotional material and our website. We wouldn't look half as good without her expertise and talent!
Happily Your Veterinarian,
Dr. Jocelyn Lyle-Dugas, DVM
